MGNREGA employees hold protest in Doda to demand regularization | KNO

DODA , DEC 14 (KNO) : Demanding regularization of their services hundreds of workers engaged under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Doda district today held strong protest demonstration in front of ACD office here against state government and Rural Development Department Minister.They were raising slogans against state government and concerned Rural Development Department minister. The protesting employees assembled under the chairmanship of its president Sajad Butt and accused government of failing to frame a job policy for them. The protest saw the participation of MGNREGA employees from Gram Rozgar Sahik, technical assistants, progamme officers, district coordinators, and management system information operators from various parts of district Doda which included Bhaderwah , Gundoh , Marmath , Thatri , Charalla , Gath , Bhalla and Assar .“We are not in a condition to educate our children neither in government or private schools, and we even cannot meet the requirements at our homes,” An employee Irfan Sheikh said addressing the protestors. “It’s our right to demand the regularization of our services because we are highly qualified and well educated people.”(KNO)
